Dr Moseley runs a private and independent private tutorial service, Classical Foundations, in the Vale of Belvoir in the East Midlands with his wife, cello, piano and Alexander Technique teacher Moira Brown. Dr Moseley teaches a range of academic subjects up to GCSE and A-level. He also offers tutorials for those studying at the degree level and helps with UCAS applications, study skills and general academic confidence. Dr Moseley studied Economics and Politics at the University of York, Economics for his Masters in York Ontario, and Philosophy for his doctorate at the University of Edinburgh. He was a Faculty of Arts adviser at York, Ontario and has tutored at the universities of York Ontario, Stirling and Edinburgh, followed by an Assistant Professorship (Lectureship) for the University of Evansville’s Harlaxton College for four years. At Harlaxton, he lectured in British History, Economics, and Philosophy and was head of department for two years. He then taught Economics for local Sixth Forms and was employed for a year teaching years seven to thirteen English, Maths, ICT and Economics. He continued to teach several hours of A-level economics a week to foreign students for several year - taking a break after the birth of his second son; he is currently (2011) an examiner for AS economics. He is an active member of the Military Ethics Educational Network as a philosophical adviser. In the past he was a member of the Society for Applied Philosophy and has been sub-editor for the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy since 2000. He has given regular talks at universities (including in Alabama and France’s Military Academy, St-Cyr, the UK's Joint Services College and the Ecole Militaraire in Paris) on education, the history of ideas, ethics and philosophy of war, and military ethics.Dr Moseley has also penned articles for journals and commentaries on economics and politics for Lew Rockwell.com. Dr Moseley has published several books: A Philosophy of War; An Introduction to Political Philosophy; John Locke – Continuum Library of Educational Thought; and most recently An A-Z of Philosophy and Aristotle – Continuum Library of Educational Thought. He has also edited a collection on Miltary and Humanitarian Intervention (Ashgate). He has penned three novels - Wither This Land, Vestiges of Freedom, both political satires on modern day trends and more recently (2011) The Turning Away. The first about the clash between the Labour Government and the Hunting Community the second about what life may be like in the European Union (or Eunion) a century from now. Both are available from amazon and other online retailers. The third is a historical novel set in 1940: circumstances bring two men back into the life of a woman farmer, one a Luftwaffe pilot on the run, the other an English Colonel in charge of finding him. It is gently provocative and erotic novel of love and birth..
Dr Moseley is also a qualified ITEC masseur and massages clients and friends regularly; he studied McTimoney Chiropractic for a year and half (until funds ran out after the birth of his first son) taking undergraduate courses in anatomy, physiology, the philosophy of health, pathology and bio-chemistry alongside practical studies in Chiropractic and soft-tissue manipulation. As a father, philosopher, and educator, Dr Moseley is passionate about teaching and encouraging his pupils to think for themselves and to rise to the potential that they are capable of; both he and his wife are home educators and are available for help on educating your children at home.
